A Trendy Seongsu Cafe for Dessert (and Cocktails): A to B Cafe & Bar

Seongsu is where Seoul goes to be trendy — former factories turned into design shops, pop-ups and cafes — and a good Seongsu cafe is half the reason to visit. A to B Cafe & Bar is a nice one to know: a stylish spot for creative desserts and coffee by day that turns into a cocktail bar by night.

Finding it

A to B is a 3-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 2 — come out, walk straight, and you’ll find it on the second floor of a building. The name hints at the concept: coffee and cocktails, served all day, alongside a range of house-made desserts.

Inside it’s modern and design-led, and it leans lively rather than hushed — when I went it was buzzing, with an upbeat soundtrack and a good crowd.

How it works

On a weekend afternoon there was a short wait (about four groups). You write your name and phone number on the list at the counter, and staff call or phone you when a table’s ready — so you can wander off nearby and come back. There’s a one-drink-per-person minimum.

The menu is accessed via a QR code at the table, with English descriptions, so ordering is easy. Cards accepted. If you’d like to see photos first, the cafe’s Naver Map listing has them.

What to order

Hunter Latte (7,500 KRW)

A to B’s signature coffee, and still on the menu: a flat-white base with chocolate and cinnamon, topped with ice cream. The espresso is rich and the ice cream soft and sweet — they work beautifully together. If you order just one thing here, make it this.

Americano (5,500 KRW)

Nicely aromatic, nutty with a touch of acidity; you can ask for it brewed lighter. A good foil for the sweeter desserts.

The desserts

This is where A to B stands out — the desserts are creative and change with the season. When I visited, their signature was the Merry-misu, a layered dessert of sweet red bean, chewy mochi, matcha cream and strawberry — but that one has since been retired, so don’t come expecting it.

What’s on now leans summery: a mango sorbet with coconut, a banana brûlée cold-misu (a close cousin of the old Merry-misu, if you’re chasing that layered style), and a salted-caramel chocolat with ice cream, among others. The line-up rotates, so treat the specific names as a guide and ask what’s current.

Verdict

For a Seongsu cafe that captures the neighborhood’s trendy energy, A to B is an easy pick — creative seasonal desserts, a genuinely good signature latte, and the option to slide from afternoon coffee into an evening cocktail without changing venues. Come for the Hunter Latte, stay for whatever dessert they’re doing that season, and soak up the hippest corner of Seoul. Better yet, make a Seongsu afternoon of it: a hearty bowl of gomtang at nearby Neungdong Minari, then coffee and dessert here.
