Here’s something that surprises visitors: for a mall this size, Lotte World Mall has remarkably few Korean restaurants. Much of the 5th floor is international chains and cafes. So when you want an actual Korean meal in Jamsil — not a quick bite, but a proper spread — Hanguk-ui-jip is the Jamsil Korean restaurant worth walking to the far end of the floor for.

Why this place matters
A bansang is a Korean set meal built around one main dish, served with rice, soup, a spread of small side dishes (banchan), and tea to finish — all arriving together. If you’ve wanted the “many little dishes” style of Korean dining without booking an expensive hanjeongsik course, this is the format to order.
Hanguk-ui-jip has one of the widest bansang selections you’ll find in a mall, which makes it the easiest place in Jamsil to eat traditionally. (Craving a simpler bowl instead? There’s excellent gomtang beef soup on the same floor.)
The dining room is large and clean with plenty of tables, including window seats — comfortable even on a busy weekend.

What to order
The menu is long, but it’s organized by type, and two old-fashioned words are worth knowing before you look:
- Goldongban = bibimbap (rice mixed with vegetables and toppings)
- Goldongmyeon = naengmyeon (cold noodles, in broth or spicy-mixed)
From there it’s easy to navigate:
- Bibimbap bansang: plain, with gangdoenjang (thick soybean stew), yukhoe (beef tartare), pork belly, bulgogi, or spicy octopus
- Grilled bansang: beef bulgogi, chicken bulgogi, seasoned pork
- Noodle bansang: cold naengmyeon, either in broth or mixed
- Soup bansang: pa-yukgaejang (spicy beef and scallion soup), abalone short-rib soup
- Sharing plates: abalone samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), braised short ribs, Korean beef tteokgalbi, grilled eel, grilled dried pollack
- Kids’ menu: tteokgalbi and mini bansang sets
Good news for visitors: the menu has photos, English dish names, and English descriptions, so ordering is straightforward.
Beef bulgogi bansang (22,000 KRW)
The set comes with the bulgogi plus salad, dongchimi (water radish kimchi), japchae, kimchi, seasoned greens with doenjang, and braised eggplant — finished with maesil (plum) tea. It arrives neat and complete, easy to eat and lovely to look at.
The bulgogi itself is very tender with no gaminess, in a lightly sweet marinade. The portion of meat isn’t huge, but with that many side dishes you won’t leave hungry.

Abalone short-rib soup bansang (28,000 KRW)
This is galbitang (short-rib soup) with abalone added, served with the same set of side dishes. It comes with scissors and tongs so you can cut the meat off the bones — a completely normal Korean table tool, so use them freely.
Two big short ribs and abalone in a deep, hot broth: the meat falls apart, and the soup has that restorative quality Koreans prize. Personally I preferred this to the bulgogi.

Details & tips
- Location: 5F, Lotte World Mall, 300 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu — at the far inner end of the restaurant floor (Google Maps)
- Hours: 10:30am–10:00pm daily (last order 9:00pm)
- Ordering: staff take your order at the table; the menu has photos and English names and descriptions. Cards accepted.
- Waiting: no remote waiting app — you write your name on the list at the entrance and wait there. Weekends get busy, but I walked straight in at 2:30pm on a Saturday, so going off-peak works well.
- Parking note: the Lotte World Mall restaurant floor doesn’t offer parking validation (only cinema, aquarium, and concert hall ticket holders get discounted parking) — another reason to come by subway.

Verdict
It’s pricier than a quick mall meal, but that’s the trade for a proper Korean spread — main, rice, soup, half a dozen side dishes, and tea, all at once. If you’re in Jamsil and want to actually eat Korean food rather than settle for whatever’s closest, this is the Jamsil Korean restaurant to know. Come off-peak, order a bansang, and take your time.
