Lotte World Mall Ramen: Oreno Ramen’s Creamy Chicken Tori Paitan (5F)

Shopping or sightseeing at Lotte World Mall and craving a warm bowl of noodles? The Lotte World Mall ramen worth seeking out is Oreno Ramen on the 5th-floor restaurant level — a compact, always-busy spot known for a rich, creamy chicken broth that sets it apart from the usual pork-based bowls.

What makes it different: tori paitan

Most ramen you’ll meet in Korea is pork-based (tonkotsu). Oreno’s signature is tori paitan — a chicken-based broth, simmered creamy and rich but noticeably cleaner and lighter than pork. The noodles are thin, and a soft-boiled egg comes standard, its yolk cooked to a perfect jammy richness. Even the chashu here is chicken rather than the usual pork. It’s a great option if you find tonkotsu too heavy.

Finding it & the waiting system

Oreno Ramen is on the 5th-floor restaurant level of Lotte World Mall — ride the central escalators up and head into the dining area. (Google Maps)

It’s a busy mall spot with no remote waiting app, but the system is simple once you know it:

  1. On arrival, order and pay at the kiosk by the entrance (it supports English, and takes both cash and card).
  2. Check the waiting number on your printed receipt/ticket, then wait out front or in the area staff point you to.
  3. When your number is called, you’re seated and served right away — and since you’ve already ordered, the food arrives fast.

Tip: the line can build up, so put your order in at the kiosk the moment you arrive, then wait nearby. On a weekend early evening (around 5:30pm) I waited about 20 minutes, but noodles turn over quickly.

The bowl

Tori paitan (13,000 KRW)

Rich, nutty chicken broth with tender chicken and thin noodles. The soft-boiled egg is the highlight — springy white, deeply savory jammy yolk. There’s chewy kombu (kelp) in there too, adding a nice texture. One egg comes standard; you can add an extra soft-boiled egg (+1,000) or pork-belly chashu (+3,000) if you want to go bigger.

Local tip: the noodles, broth, and a bowl of rice are all free to refill — just ask the staff. Pouring that bowl of rice into the last of the rich broth is the correct way to finish.
